Our CEO and Founder will be also be speaking at the Farm Technology Theatre on 8th March at 1.40-2pm:
Insect Farming; Enabling the Agri-Food Industry
Thomas Farrugia, Chief Executive Officer, Beta Bugs Ltd
Insect farming is a global industry and although there are variations on the theme according to region and species, the concept itself is very simple – farm insects such as the Black Soldier Fly and then process them into end products which are typically linked up the wider agri-food chain.
The insect farming industry is now entering a new stage of its’ development – specialization and segmentation. Within our industry, there is a growing ecosystem of specialized companies that offer solutions that enable existing farmers and land-owners to diversify into this sector and become insect producers and farmers.
During this talk, we will cover insect farming, the various approaches and practicalities to take into account, and how Beta Bugs can enable you to enter this sector through the supply of Black Soldier Fly larvae in the form of eggs, simplifying the overall farming process.
