Championing a More Sustainable Future for Food & Feed

WHO ARE UKEIA?

There has never been a better time to join us at the UK Edible Insect Association. It seems, at last, that the world is waking up to the benefits of insect protein, and if you’re reading Beta Buzz right now, then congratulations, you are in the right place to find out more!

UKEIA [you-key-ah] members are many and varied: curious researchers, farmers large scale and small, canny tech innovators, forward-thinking entrepreneurs, creative food producers and more – but they all have the same thing in common.

They see a more sustainable future for food and feed, a place where gaps in the agri-food cycle are filled with insects.

HOW DO UKEIA HELP FARMERS DIVERSIFY INTO INSECT FARMING?

Their growing set of practical resources show farmers how they can diversify into insect production, an accessible, financially viable and environmentally sustainable business proposition that can happily co-exist alongside traditional set-ups.

Members collectively and individually represent the sector across the UK and internationally. At events and forums, both online and in person, they provide excellent opportunities to network, to bounce ideas off each other, and share progress both rapid and incremental.

They facilitate the creation of beneficial connections with partners, and help insect protein enterprises across the UK avoid early pitfalls, making sure UKEIA are connecting them with technical experts and leading academic researchers through their database of contacts.
